The process of electroflotation can be applied with great advantage particularly for mixtures or changing concentrations of industrial waste water. Large production plants e. g. with effluents from degreasing units, surface hardening, painting booths, electroplating and metal working need to be treated to eliminate mineral oil and heavy metals to very low effluent permits.

Effluent capacities between 5 m³/d to 250 m³/h have so far been realized.
